Museum Mile at the Church of the Heavenly Rest Block Party

Date: Tuesday, June 9

Call Time: 6:00 PM (or as soon as you can get there)

Call Location: Church of the Heavenly Rest, Darlington Hall, 2 East 90th Street (between Madison & Fifth Avenues)

Truck Duty: Drumline

This is a paid gig

Call Time:

  • 6pm or as soon as you can get there
  • Truck will be in place before 6pm

Call Location:

  • Church of the Heavenly Rest: Darlington Hall Entrance, 2 East 90th Street (between Madison & Fifth Avenues)
  • Truck will be parked on 90th 

Schedule:

  • 6pm: Unload truck, tune, and warm up in Darlington Hall
  • 7ish: Line up on 90th and march around the corner to front of church
  • Play for 40 min before marching back around the corner

Subway:

  • 4, 5, or 6 train to the 86th Street station.

  • About a 10-15 minute walk to the church.

  • Be sure to check the MTA website for service changes and the MTA Live Map before you leave home!

By Car

  • GPS address: 1085 5th Ave, New York, NY 10128
  • Please note: 5th Ave and many side streets will be closed. You might want to park downtown and subway up. 

Uniform (Everyone)

  • White QBAC logo T-Shirt
  • Rainbow bottoms or any bottoms since many of us are coming from work
  • Footwear of your choice
  • You do NOT need your Aussie hat/beret

More About the Music:

  • Put your music into a flip-folder (and don’t forget to bring a lyre)
  • Bring your booklights/headlamps to see your music as it gets dark.
  • Suggestion: If you need to put the GOATs in a flipfolder, use a separate flip folder than the one with your Marching Set to avoid making that one too unwieldy. (Trust us, you’ll be glad you did!)
  • Make sure you have a QBAC logo placard in front of the pieces in the Marching Set, Bonus Tracks, and GOATs.
  • If you performed at Queens Pride, you may recycle the La Cage placards
  • This is a stand-and-play outdoor performance; and it is rain or shine, because in the event of rain we will play INSIDE the church!

  • Our performance will begin at approximately 7 PM

  • We will perform for 45 minutes.

  • If you’re running late, just come anyway and jump in and join us!

Restrooms are available via the church’s Darlington Hall.
